Among the largest book festivals in the USA, Miami Book Fair International is one of the top 10. Miami held its first book fair, called Books by the Bay, in 1984. More than three decades later, the now renamed Miami Book Fair International has become the largest literary festival in the country.
The event takes places during eight days in November and draws hundreds of thousands of book lovers to downtown Miami. The Fair has drawn writers of all stripes since the very beginning. Politicians and pundits from President Barack Obama (before he was president) to former Vice President Al Gore, Chris Matthews, Ariana Huffington, former Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee, Mike Wallace and Al Roker have appeared at Miami Book Fair International.
The annual Miami Book Fair draws acclaimed authors from around the world. It has also proudly hosted authors from almost every country in Latin America and the Caribbean.
